Dr Woof Apparel: how navigation alone added $557K a month

Dr Woof Apparel sells compression socks and apparel (drwoofapparel.com). Their traffic is a mix of travelers, athletes, and people on their feet all day. That mix killed one of our tests and made another a winner. Both lessons are below.

We ran 15 experiments. Five won and are live adding revenue. Four lost and told us where not to spend the next test. Six are still running. The five winners add $557,202 a month, and four of those five were navigation fixes. We barely touched the product page.

That is the headline you should sit with. Everyone pours budget into the PDP. The money on Dr Woof was sitting in how people moved through the store.

Navigation is the leak, not the product page

You have been told the conversion fight happens on the product page. Bolt on a trust badge, rewrite the buy box, drop a countdown timer. On Dr Woof the product pages were fine. What broke was findability.

Four of five winners touched navigation or merchandising: the mobile menu, the desktop menu, the collection-page bubbles, and the cart. The two PDP tests we ran, a trust bar and best-seller highlighting, both lost. The pattern was loud. When buyers cannot find the right pair fast, they bounce. When they can, they buy more.

Steal this: Pull your last 10 tests and tag each one navigation, merchandising, or PDP. If most of your budget went to the PDP and your menu has never been touched, you are guarding the wrong door.

Win 1: the mobile menu was your homepage all along

$250,648 a month. CVR +36% on mobile. RPV +4.91%.

Most of Dr Woof's traffic is mobile, and the old menu buried categories in a plain text list. We rebuilt it around visual product previews with category tabs and clear separation. People found what they came for, and conversion jumped 36% on mobile.

On mobile, the menu is the homepage. People do not scroll your hero. They tap the hamburger and decide in two seconds whether your store has what they want. Get that wrong and the rest of the funnel never gets a turn.

Steal this: Open your store on your phone and tap the menu. Count the taps to your best seller. If it is more than two, rebuild the menu around your top categories with images, not a text list.
